Ingmar Bergman’s melancholy comedy concerning the 19th-century romantic entanglements of three couples over a weekend at a country estate.Lustful lawyer Frederick is living in a platonic marriage with his virginal wife Anne. Henrik, Frederik’s son from a previous marriage, is desperately in love with Anne – and having an affair with the maid.
